LOS ANGELES (and other California) FILM LOCATIONS

Halloween - The Meyer House - 709 Meridian Avenue in South Pasadena. At some point the small house was picked up and moved to 1000 Mission Street, near the corner of Meridian and Mission Streets. Last I heard it was a law office so don't knock and ask if the Meyers are home.

Superbad - McLovin's run in with the cops - 7 Days Liquore, Victory Blvd & Western, Glendale, CA. I had actually shopped at this store many times before the movie came out, so when I saw the McLovin' scene I recognized the store immediately.

Melrose Place - 4616 Greenwood Place, Los Feliz, CA.

Wayne's World - Music Store that doesn't allow Stairway to Heaven to be played while testing out the guitars - Cassell's Music, 901 N. Maclay Ave, San Fernando, CA. Apparently this store features a little memorabilia from the movie.

Tango & Cash and many other movies have been filmed at the Park Plaza Hotel - 607 S. Park View Street, Los Angeles. Aside from its stunning grand entrace inside, this hotel also features some large banquet rooms. During the 80's two of those rooms were home to an 80's Goth nightclub called "the Scream" where bands like the Cult, Jane's Addiction, the Vandals and Wire once played.

Gone in 60 Seconds and just about any cafe scene in a movie - 1236 W 7th St, Los Angeles - Since 2006 this Cafe closed its doors

National Lapoon's Vacation - This is the hotel that has the pool where Clark Griswald (Chevy Chase) skinny dips with Christy Brinkley. "This is crazy! This is crazy! This is crazy!" - 12500 Firestone Blvd, Norwalk, CA.

The Birds - Suprisingly this school house from the suspense / horror classic still looks the same after more than 50 years. 17110 Bodega Lane, Bodega Bay, CA
